May Day

Just checking in today to say 'Hi" to all, and as promised to let you know that this site is not closed for good, just temporarily.  Over the last month I have to say I miss writing and keeping each of you caught up on life lessons.  Live it out was started over eight years ago, and the goal behind it was to share with the readers my thoughts of myself learning how to live out the words of the bible and follow Christ.  Within those words that I shared my hopes were to get others to learn to do the same.  Many have responded to many shared thoughts letting me know that I was not the only person going through whatever trial or tribulation I was writing about.  Today's will still be the same.  I am a staunch believer in "nothing just happens", God puts you where he needs you to be for whatever time period that may be and for whatever reason that might be.  The sooner you realize that you are there for God, then the sooner you will see God in your life.  I often wondered why God allowed me to have the childhood that I had.  It was not a hard childhood, in fact it was a great childhood.  Filled with many, many great times and memories.  Yet, things happen and stuff gets said and it hurts.  As a child we never comprehend how the things we say and do will affect anyone that we come in contact with.  So when we hear our parents make comments or behave a certain way, we as a child assume that is OK.  Then we act, as a child, and repeat those words said or actions done as if it is OK.  Now looking back I see the bullying that took place in my life, and how it affected me.  Made me make life decisions based on how I was treated at school or in the community.  This I say, because 15 and 20 years later, I have a connection with those kids in school today going through the same things that I went through.  One big point that came to my life was in the realization that even today my 2 boys watch everything I do and hear everything I say, and even pay attention to what I watch, and listen to.  To them that is permission to get away with it , "it is OK, because dad does, says, watches, or listens to it"  Our kids are the mirrors of us parents.  How will they turn out, well how are you letting them turn out as parents?  Be careful how you react!  What you do today might be what your child does tomorrow, therefore what you say today, your child might say tomorrow.  What comments do you say, under your breath, about an ethnic group that you have a racists mind set on.  Or about someone that loves someone of the same sex?  I go through all the conversations I remember with my grandparents, parents, aunts and uncle, cousins, etc.  I know how they feel about many of those things, but I need to make a stand and be the guard to letting my kids grow up and think that same way.  Will you do it to?  bullying has got to stop.  And letting my kids know that I will not stand for it will only begin to make a difference on someones life.  But the key is to the parents...STOP IT!  stop it at home so it never comes to school.  At school it is bad enough, but to be bullied is too far.  make today your day to make it stop.  We have to put an end to this, it is out of control and causing too much hurt in this world.  So to all of you that had a life full of this in your past, here is your chance to make that difference in your kids lives.  "If you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and then make that change" (Michael Jackson " man in the mirror")  Use who you were to make a better you today!!
May God continue to richly bless each of you, and until next time.
Be the hands and feet of Christ!
